OMA en LMN hebben voor de openbare bibliotheek in Seattle een AIA Honor Award for outstanding architecture gewonnen. 'The profession's highest recognition of excellence' voor een in de Verenigde Staten gerealiseerd gebouw aldus het persbericht.
De jury over de bibliotheek: 'An exciting, vital and dynamic place to be – attracts all generations back to the library A beloved, refreshing, dynamic living room for the city of Seattle A building that works spectacularly, suggesting that function and high design can co-exist comfortably.'
Andere winnaars zijn onder andere: Neil M. Denari Architects voor het interieur voor Eyeworks Showroom in Los Angeles en SPF:a met de Somis Hay Barn.
Het American Institute of Architects ontving 650 aanmeldingen waaruit totaal 35 winnaars werden gekozen voor de categorieën architectuur, interieur en planologie en stedenbouw.
