Jürgen Mayer – Making Architecture #17

On Thursday the 9th of May Jürgen Mayer will give a lecture about his Berlin based office ‘J. MAYER H. und Partner, Architekten’ and their way of ‘Making’ Architecture! Their work focusses on the intersection of architecture, communication and new technology. With a varied portfolio the relationship between the human body, technology and nature form the background for a new production of space. Some internationally renowned examples of his projects include: the Metropol Parasol (Seville), Danfoss Universe (Denmark) and the FOM University Building (Düsseldorf).
The work of Jürgen Mayer H. has been published and exhibited worldwide and is part of numerous collections including MoMA New York, SF MoMA and private collections. His award record includes the Mies-van-der-Rohe Award 2003, Winner Holcim Award Bronze 2005 and Winner Audi Urban Future Award 2010. He has taught at numerous universities, including Princeton, Harvard and the Architectural Association.
This will be the 17th edition of the ‘Making’ Architecture lecture series, organized by AnArchi, Study Association for Architecture, and Juliette Bekkering of The Chair of Architectural Design and Engineering (ADE) at the TU/e.
