R. H. Driehaus Architecture Competition
The Richard H. Driehaus Architecture Competition is a 2-stage international competition.
Last fall Stage One resulted in selection of sites in four municipalities scattered in different regions of Spain: Alzira (Valencia), Santa Cruz de la Palma (Canarias), Santiago de Compostela (Galicia) and Guadix (Granada). In each case the location is a heritage site the community wishes to rebuild or to add to in order to recover it or to better meet today’s needs.
Stage Two is an international call to architects and urban designers to propose solutions for these locations. A second international jury, formed once again with representatives from the various participating institutions, including also representatives of the authorities of the four municipalities to which the sites belong, evaluate the proposals and select the ones they felt best meet competition’s criteria.
