Aectual is looking for a parametric architectural product designer & developer with XL 3D print skills.

Aectual is the go-to platform for made-to-measure architectural and interior products made in a 100% circular manner connected to cutting edge technology and advanced manufacturing. We collaborate with famous and upcoming architects and designers, and offer interior and architectural products such as floors, acoustic wall panels, furniture, and facades. We’re looking for an architectural parametric design talent with love for the craft of 3D printing, to become an important part of our growing international team and platform. The ideal candidate is a positive and hands-on person, a gifted designer & developer in many scales- ranging from product and interior design to architecture. Good presentation, 3D modelling and analytic skills and are a must.

Required skills & character:

  • Have a curious and positive personality with a strong interest in digital fabrication, materials, design, and product development
  • Have strong 3D modelling, scripting, and rendering skills
  • Excellence in Rhino & Grasshopper is a must
  • Knowledge of Python is appreciated
  • Have excellent analytical, technical, and creative design skills
  • Be ambitious, hands-on, and eager to grow within the company
  • Have a Master degree in architecture or design
  • Have proven parametric design skills on an architectural scale
  • Love to connect the virtual design tools with the actual digital fabrication tools
  • Have good communication skills in English – both written and verbal – understanding of the Dutch language is an asset
  • Candidates should be permitted to work in the Netherlands (or do a post-graduate internship)

Role & tasks:

  • You will be part of our product design team & platform design-to-production team
  • Contribute to our growing parametric product library and make products available on our platform
  • Create images, 3D models, and product information to streamline communication with users & clients
  • Develop parametric products based on user input / product design / sales questions
  • Collaborate with architects and designers in the development of new products, create large scale 3D printed prototypes
  • Upgrade & development of scripts connected to our online platform tools & product possibilities
  • Prepare 3D print files & help streamline the full design-to-production process
  • Create smart parametric building blocks within our products connected to the XL 3D print parameters
