M Moser Associates is looking for a Junior-Mid level Designer to join it’s growing Amsterdam team. The role will involve working on Workplace design projects across EMEA and is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about Workplace design, has a creative and hands-on approach to providing innovative design solutions for a wide range of clients.
As a Mid-Level Interior Designer with a minimum of 1 year of experience, particularly in workplace design, you will collaborate closely with the design lead to refine design concepts, produce technical drawings, and support client interactions. Your strong technical skills in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite will be key, along with your experience in space planning, product specification, and conducting site surveys. You will contribute to innovative design solutions, problem-solve creatively, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Dutch would be a valuable asset.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the design lead to contribute to the overarching design narrative, refining and enhancing the project vision.
- Produce technical drawings, details, and modify existing plans using AutoCAD and/or Revit;
- Provide assistance and dialogue to 3D visualisers as needed.
- Offer creative and technical support to the design lead, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Assist in client interactions, understanding and aligning with their aspirations and expectations.
- Support space planning and workplace strategy, balancing project necessities and practical realities as discussed with the project team.
- Create 3D sketch visuals using SketchUp/Revit to communicate design concepts effectively.
- Coordinate the design of signage and graphic materials in partnership with the graphic design team.
- Research and specify products, fixtures, fittings, furniture, and finishes in alignment with project goals.
- Conduct site surveys alongside the team, ensuring accuracy in design implementation.
- Maintain relationships with product suppliers and keep an up-to-date samples library by meeting with sales representatives.
- Assist in presenting design concepts to both internal teams and clients, ensuring alignment and approval.
- Problem-solve design challenges in collaboration with the team, applying inventive and practical solutions.
- Provide additional design support as required to ensure the success of each project.
Qualifications & Key Competencies:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in interior design, with a focus on workplace projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite (InDesign and Photoshop), and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A portfolio showcasing signature conceptual design work.
- Strong technical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- An awareness or understanding of designing to project budgets and timelines.
- Ability to maintain design integrity from concept through to construction.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently.
- Familiarity with local codes and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, and colleagues at all levels.
- Action-oriented, with a drive for results and achieving project goals.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently while thriving in a collaborative team setting.
- Dutch language proficiency is an advantage.
